A wonderfully complex example of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. It starts off with bold red fruit but quickly diverts into a depth of flavor that you don't always find in this varietal. Its 22 months in French wood gives it a pronounced pungent earthiness, and almost pine-like flavor, with a warming spiciness to finish. The tannic structure is bold enough to please a Piedmont fan, yet silky enough to sip all on its own. 5% Sangiovese, 15% Colorino del Valdarno, Canaiolo Nero, and Mammolo grapes.
